Shay is now walking and we are working on potty training Mason. I need to post a few pictures from Mason's b-day party. He is now 3!

PIRATE'S COVE

We've been invited to come swim at this house called Pirate's Cove in Boulder City.

There's an open invitation to our friends that would like to come with us.

We'll be there tomorrow evening from 5:30 until around 9:00 pm and

Wednesday from 2:00 pm until around 7:00pm.

To celebrate the 4th this year we decided to check out the parade in Summerlin! We actually really enjoyed it! Mason loved seeing all of his favorite characters.

Mason loved waving to all his favorite characters. He saw Elmo, Mater, the Berinstein Bears, Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat, Mr. Incredible, and a few others. Mason loved getting candy :)

Shay enjoyed the parade too.

During the day we went swimming at Grandmas. Shay liked splashing in the warm water today. Shay is so funny in her little chair kicking the water wildly. She thought she was pretty cool stuff. She has quite the bubbly personality!

We often find Shay looking like this: with 10 necklaces around her neck. This girl loves her jewelry. She knows how to put them on and take them off herself.

This morning we woke up to a fun surprise....SNOW falling in our backyard!! Huge flakes of snow are still falling! We had enough snow by lunch time to build a SNOWMAN! It was so much fun! Mason played out there for six hours! (with a few HOT CHOCOLATE breaks of course) He loved wearing his "glubbs" (gloves) his grandma gave him yesterday. That was lucky timing!

orry for the lack of posts lately. My nephew, baby Trent, was born on Monday so I have been enjoying having family in town visiting all week.

Shay Baby is already 6 months old. I think this may be my favorite age. She is so smiley and interactive right now. She gives hugs and is grabbing at everything.

Yesterday I took the kids up to Red Rock to have a little picnic and walk around in the great outdoors. I brought the camera along and had some fun.

Introducing Shay Addison Sagers born 4.08.2008 weighing 7 lbs 13 oz 19 inches long. We were scheduled to have her by C-Section Wed early morning but were suprised with a phone call at 1:30 pm Tuesday from the Dr.'s nurse saying he needed to reschedule because he was leaving town. They wanted us to come in for a C-Section that day (Tuesday) at 6:00 pm. (nothing like short notice). It was quite exciting and probably a good thing that I didn't have much time to dwell on what was about to happen (pain). We hurried and packed our bags and went to the hospital. We met our little baby Shay a few hours later. The past two days have been quite a whirlwind but its so much fun to finally have our little girl here safe. Mom and baby are both doing well at Centennial Hills Hospital. And it's true folks, they really give you a massage and a fine celebration dinner - filet minon with cheesecake :)

Mason is turning into such a big boy before my eyes! I keep telling him to stop getting so big. I got him some new summer clothes for Easter and they make him look so grown up. He loves his new hat and flip flops. I took some pictures of him yesterday playing peek-a-boo in our curtains and chasing me with a water bottle. He is just so full of personality. I'm just soaking in these last two weeks of it just being Mason, Alan, and I before baby comes.

Does anyone else have the most productive days when they don't even get out of their P.J.'s? My apologies to my bug man, Dean, who came by first thing this morning and I was in my P.J.'s and he had to tour our disaster zone. Yesterday and today I have been busy sewing this baby bedding including a quilt, crib skirt, sheet, and bumpers for both the port-a-crib and regular crib. I was so excited how they turned out. I hope it is girly enough for a girl. I chose these colors because eventually I want to put Mason and the baby in the same room. I thought red, brown, teal, and green could go for boy or girl. Anyways, just thought you might want a peek at my latest project.

Hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! I must say this is my absolute favorite holiday besides Christmas of course. I think it is so fun to think of creative surprises to do for each other. I just wanted to give a shout out to Alan and tell him how much I love him publicly. He was so sweet to surprise me yesterday with lunch and roses. We had a yummy night of cooking fondu together. I'm so lucky to be married to such a wonderful person who loves me in-spite of my flaws. Here are a few pictures of the other love of my life. I feel so blessed to have two men in my life I get to adore each day. I still love Mason even though he is absolutely impossible to take pictures of recently. He will not hold still for anything or look and me and smile. This is torture for a photographer. Luckily I have less than 2 months until I have a sweet new model :)

A Few Highlights Of Mason's Week...

I am so bad at carrying my camera with me everywhere. It's a good thing my phone has somewhat of a camera to capture these hilarious moments. Hope they make you smile too.

Here is Mason today after he refused to take a nap. He finally couldn't hold his eyes open anymore at Smith's. Right before falling asleep he kept pointing to his eyes and saying "eyes" and making a face like they hurt. He fell completely asleep sitting up in the cart for the last 10 minutes of our grocery shopping. My fellow shoppers got a good laugh too.

Here is Mason at the park yesterday. It was a proud moment when Mason went down the slide all by himself over and over. He is getting so big.

Here is what Mason does when I'm getting ready for the day. Except usually he has my high heels on too. (P.S. He found and put that headband on himself)

Bye Bye Binki

I don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched but I think we might be done with the binki! I've been wanting to get rid of Mason's binki for a while now but could never work up the courage to take it away. For a long time now he has only used it during naps and bedtime, but his sleep habits were so good that I didn't want to mess with a good thing by taking his binki away. But, I thought it would be good for it to disappear before baby comes. So a few days ago a went to go put Mason down for his usual nap and he threw the binki out of his crib. Signaling to me he didn't want to take a nap. I gave it back to him and he threw it out again so I said, "ok no binki then" and said "night night". Surprisingly he laid down and went to sleep. So, I thought, man that was easier than I thought it was going to be. He went to bed fine that night without it too. Then the next day he cried for an hour when I put him down for a nap so I finally went and got him and tried putting him down a 1/2 hour later but he cried for a while again so no nap for Mason. I cannot remember the last time Mason didn't take a nap so by 5:30 that night he was spent. He was sitting on my lap watching TV waiting for Dad to get home from work when suddenly I noticed out of the corner of my eye he kept leaning further and further forward, then his eyelids started to get very heavy and and finally closed. The poor kids was just all tuckered out. I couldn't help from laughing so hard tears came. This woke him slightly but he couldn't keep his eyes open and went right back into a deep sleep. It was so sweet having him sleep on me especially after such a traumatic afternoon. Mason has not fallen asleep on me for a very long time. I just held him until his dad got home so he could witness this miraculous event. When he woke up we cut the nipple off his binki and we gave it to him and told him it was broken. He seemed to understand and took one long last look at it then we had him throw it in the trash. He has gone to sleep fine for us since. Lets cross our fingers it stays this way. I'm so happy to have gotten past this parenting hurdle I have been dreading for so long.

Mischievous Mason

I have been debating whether to post this knowing I am going to get grief from everyone for leaving my child unattended on the counter. Don't worry this story is not about him falling off (which he has never done). The other day I gave Mason a piece of bread to eat and set him on the counter. This is the only place he will eat his food lately other than on his Daddy's lap. The phone rings and I had to leave the room briefly. I didn't worry too much about leaving him there for a minute because he sits there all the time and is old enough now not to fall off. I should have known he was up to something because he was so quiet for the few minutes I was on the phone. I came back to find this....Mason had carefully taken each piece of bread out of the sack and taken a bite and thrown it on the floor. Then he must have gotten really bored because as I looked closer at him I noticed his head was rather shiny. He had found the butter dish and buttered his entire head with clumps in his hair and all. When I saw this I immediately started laughing. I couldn't be mad because it was my fault for leaving him unattended. His innocent little eyes just looked at me like..."what could I do wrong mommy?" It took a two baths to get all the butter out. He had greased his hair pretty good. It was too funny of a moment not to share. Hope I'm not the only one cleaning up messes like this all day.

Where is Dad?

Every morning as I get Mason out of his crib the first thing Mason greets me with is "Where's Dad?". I'm sure it confuses him why some days Daddy is home (weekends) and some days Daddy is gone all day long. Mason always perks right up when he hears the garage door opening at 4:30 p.m. and yells "Dad" and runs to the door. Last night was a rare night when Alan had to do some work at home. Mason could not stand it that Daddy was home and could not pay attention to him. He would keep bringing him toys and books to get Daddy to come and play. Mason got up on his lap to help him work. Finally Alan gave in a read him a book. It was such a cute father/son moment. I'm so glad Mason loves his Daddy so much.

Mr. Independent Imitator

This week I made pizza and used a rolling pin to roll out the dough. I walked away and turned my back for 2 seconds and look over to find Mason who had pushed over the step stool, climbed up to the counter, and was rolling out his pretend pizza. He was even making the grunting straining noise because he was rolling so hard. He got a bit messy with the flour but looked like he a fun playing chef.

The other day Mason and I were playing in the backyard on the grass. He likes to push me over and lay on top of me. I grabbed my camera and snapped a few while he was on me. He is so much fun lately! So playful and loving. He has recently learned to give loves (hugs and kisses). It is the sweetest thing! His latest words are "car", "hi", and "where is dad?".

Titan's Game

Last weekend Alan, my Dad, my brother-in-laws, and uncle got the chance to fly to Tennessee and see a Titan's game. My brother-in-law, Cameron's, Dad (Norm Chow) is the offensive coach for the Titans and hooked them up with some pretty sweet 50 yard line seats. He also let them come to the team practice on Saturday and tour the weight room and locker room. They got to meet a few of the players. One of the nights they went and saw the grand ol opry building and a few of the famous country bars when many country stars got their start. They all had a good time. Here are a few of their photos. Thanks again to Cameron and his family for showing them a good time.

Last weekend we went to Utah for Alan's Grandpa's 80th birthday party. It was so beautiful up there! My parents backyard was full of leaves. I took some pictures of Mason playing in them. They raked up 8 trash bags full of leaves. They were sure pretty though. It was pretty cold that morning that is why there are no smiles coming from Mason.

What a fun SURPRISE after my regular doctor appointment, I went down to the Bellagio with 3 other girls from my ward to a medical convention that was going on. They were asking for pregnant women who were 11-13 weeks along to come demonstrate a new ultrasound technique for physicians to practice on. They also said they would pay each participant $150 so a few pregnant girls in my ward decided to go and see what it was all about. We got there and there was two beds and two ultrasound machines. They did ultrasounds on each of us for like 15-20 minutes. We got to lie there and just watch our baby's on the screen. It was so much fun. They printed us a few pictures each. The icing on the cake was when they asked me if I wanted to find out the sex of my baby. This was totally unexpected being the I just had an ultrasound at my doctors this morning and they didn't mention anything about seeing the sex of my baby. Of course I replied "YES!" and they told me I was having a little baby GIRL!!! I was totally shocked and very excited! They said they were 98% sure so I guess I can start planning. I called Alan to give him the good news. He was very excited as well. Here are some more pictures of our baby.

One Trimester Down, 2 To Go!

I had another ultrasound today. The tech said I am 13 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Which is 1 week and 2 days further along than expected. Yay. I guess my due date is now April 13th but we will see. The baby was moving all around and I could see it's little hands and feet. We will be able to find out whether it is a boy or a girl one week sooner now on Nov 1st. Hope you enjoy our latest pictures.

Mason took a little trip to the Orchard this morning. He loved running (literally) down the tree isles and seeing the pumpkin patch. We even got to taste some fresh apple juice. It's nice to know there is a little bit of nature still left in Las Vegas.

Mason has been so fun lately at the playground. He now goes down slides head first. He loves to go down them although his face does not show it. He drops his jaw and it kind of takes his breath away but as soon as he reaches the bottom he wants to do it again. He is quite the dare devil. He is a picture from my phone.

It's official...Mason is in HEAVEN!! He has been begging to go outside for weeks and now he finally can. It was definitely like Christmas in September for him. He finally has a nice GRASSY backyard to play at. This artificial grass is so soft and real looking! We even threw in a SANDBOX for him. I don't think he will be getting out of it even to eat. What a difference grass makes wow. Our backyard seems to have tripled in size. It is so fun to see Mason so happy. A special THANKS to Alan's uncle for driving all the way from Utah to bring us the grass and help us install it. If anyone is looking for super high quality artificial grass for their backyards Alan is going to be helping his uncle sell it here in Las Vegas so give him a call if you want some.

Mason and Jaxon have been friends since birth. They were born 3 weeks apart. They play together so well and are even a little mischeivious. The other day while they were playing at my house so I took a few pictures of them together. Jaxon has been sick the last few days. We hope he feels better soon so they can get together and play.

Today I read THIS blog from beginning to end. I saw a link to it on another friend's blog so I thought I'd check it out. At first I was just admiring the photos, thinking "wow what an amazing photographer she is..." and then I read the words. I admit I got a little teary. I wanted to wake up Mason and just hold him tight. I wanted to pass it on so others could be touched by her story and be warned of her accident so it could prevent another's. Also check out on her blog the link to Ava's Memorial Website. I hope each of us as parents remember what special little blessings our children are and although this was truly an accident hopefully their warning can save another child's life.

We had such a fun time in Lake Tahoe just the 3 of us! Mason is totally walking everywhere now. He refuses to hold your hand or have any help. He is such a little daddy's boy now too. He won't even come to me anymore. It's pretty cute though how much he loves his daddy. It was so beautiful there! The water so crystal clear blue! I didn't take my nice camera because I didn't want to worry about it or protect it the entire time but then of course as soon as I got there I was majorly wishing I had it. We have some exciting news. Mason is going to be a big brother! Baby #2 is on the way. We went to the doctor today and saw the little heartbeat. I'm due April 24th which makes me 6 weeks along. We are very excited. The shirt Mason is wearing is how I told Alan.

So Mason's latest trick is putting his little hands palms up and saying "Where is it?". Mason cannot even say mom yet but he is jumping straight to phrases. It is so cute, he will go over to the sliding glass door, looking for the turtle and say "Where is it". Or he will drop his binki and say "where is it?". It's quite hilarious. He has this fasination with what is going on outside. He likes to peek under the blinds.

Mason makes car noises when he plays with his cars. One word: TROUBLE!

Visiting Grandma

Mason had so much fun visiting grandma and grandpa and Aunt Karen and Laura last week. Here are a few pictures grandma took of our visit.
Mason got into lots of trouble. Anytime Mason was missing for a few seconds this is where he could be found.

Grandpa took us boating. Mason had to be in charge of holding the flag.
I love the air chair! If you haven't tried it yet it's a must!
Aunt Karen took Mason on his first tube ride. Suprisingly, he loved it!
We were in Utah on my birthday so Alan suprised me and sent me flowers. It was very sweet.

Here is Mason asleep one night. I thought it was so sweet! Look at that bod! I love how he sleeps on his knees with his little hands tucked under. By the look of this picture it looks as if we don't feed the kid.

Mason went on his first airplane ride. He did pretty good. He definitely entertained the flight attendants and everyone sitting around us by playing peek-a-boo.

Well I'm finally back to blogging after a long vacation and a few days of work. Here are some pictures of our trip to Utah. We spent the week at Jordanell boating with Alan's family. Then Friday and Saturday we went to the Moon family reunion overnighter at Brighton Girls Camp. Saturday night was my Grandma Gourley's 80th birthday party at The Lion House.

Ok so tonight before I put Mason to bed I was messing with my camera settings trying to figure something out and I needed a subject to sit there while i did it. Who better than Mason. So I set him down and of course he immediately starts crawling away. I chase him and bring him back. I set him carefully balancing on this little stool to get him to stay in one place for 10 seconds. As most of you know, this weekend was Kristen's Wedding. Thursday she received her endowment, which meant most of my babysitters were in the temple. We left Mason with our good friends Jo & Chad Leavitt. They have a little boy Mason's age named Jaxon. Mason had so much fun at their house he didn't want to leave. Mason tried his first popcycle and loved it, as you can tell by the expression on his face! Then he took a bath with Jaxon and got in his P.J.'s. He even went to bed good for them at their house. I was so happy he had such a great time without us. Luckily Jo took some pictures for me during all of this. Here they are. (Thanks again Jo)
